FADA President Ted Smith Joins Compliance Summit

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Organizers of the inaugural Compliance Summit have announced that Ted Smith, president of the Florida Automobile Dealers Association, has agreed to serve as the event’s featured luncheon speaker, which will be held Nov. 10–11, 2014, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

“Ted has made compliance a priority for the FADA and its dealer and associate members,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Monthly and F&I and Showroom. “He brings passion, know-how and challenges specific to the great state of Florida to our stage.”

Smith will present “Barbarians at Your Gate” on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 12:30 p.m. “This session will focus on the challenges facing today’s franchised dealer and how the dealer and their sales and F&I team can arm themselves with the proper processes and resources to keep the bad guys locked out and the profits locked in,” Smith said.

The Compliance Summit agenda is divided into three parts: Part I, Rules and Regulations, will be held Monday afternoon and Part II, Your Responsibilities and Part III, Easy-to-Implement Processes and Controls, which includes Smith’s address, will follow on Tuesday.

The Florida conference will be followed by events in the Midwest, South and West in 2015. The events are expected to draw dealers as well as senior staff, sales and F&I personnel, compliance officers, general agents and more.
