Compliance Summit Panel to Include F&I Pro, Experts, Editor

LAS VEGAS — Organizers of the upcoming Compliance Summit have announced that a panel dedicated to “Your Responsibilities” will include an award-winning F&I director, two compliance experts and a member of the Auto Dealer Today editorial team. The event will be held Aug. 29–30, 2016, at Paris Las Vegas as part of the annual Industry Summit.

Justin Gasman, finance director at McCaddon Cadillac Buick GMC in Boulder, Colo., and F&I and Showroom’s reigning F&Idol winner, will be joined on the panel by Michael Tuno, founder and president of ARMD Resource Group, and Max Zanan, president of Total Dealer Compliance. Tariq Kamal, managing editor of Auto Dealer Today and contributor to several additional industry publications, will serve as moderator.

“This is exciting,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Today and F&I and Showroom. “Tariq and his team bring four distinct perspectives to a challenging subject. I can’t wait to hear what they have to say.”

The panel, “Leadership, Teamwork and Accountability,” will begin at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29. The group is tasked with laying out the important first steps attendees must take to fall in line with government standards and protect F&I profitability.

“This diverse group is the ideal combination for the topic, and they are going to make my job easy,” Kamal said. “We are going to equip every attendee with the information they need to start forming a plan for compliance and sustainable productivity.”

Compliance Summit attendees are also invited to attend any Industry Summit session and sit for the Certified Automotive Compliance Specialist exam, both for no additional charge.

Ganther Leads First Wave of Compliance Summit Speakers

TAMPA, Fla. — Leading attorney and compliance expert James S. Ganther has agreed to speak at the upcoming Compliance Summit Las Vegas, organizers announced Tuesday. The event is scheduled for Aug. 29–30, 2016, at Paris Las Vegas, as part of Industry Summit.

“I’ve been privileged to have participated in each of the Compliance Summits since the initiative was launched in Miami in 2014,” Ganther said. “Each one has been better than the last, so I know the Las Vegas version will be a winner!”

Ganther will serve as the featured speaker for the Your Responsibilities portion of the event’s agenda, which will also include featured presentations and panel discussions dedicated to Rules and Regulations and Easy-to-Implement Processes and Controls.

As with past events, the educational sessions will be capped by “Is It Compliant?,” an open forum among Compliance Summit speakers and attendees. Attendees are also invited to take part in the rest of Industry Summit, which also includes two full days of sales and F&I training.

Compliance Summit to Hit Tampa, Las Vegas in 2016

TAMPA, Fla. — Organizers of Compliance Summit, a series of regional events dedicated to front-end compliance for dealers and dealership management, announced that events will be held in Tampa and Las Vegas this year following stops in Chicago and Austin, Texas, in 2015.

“Demand for compliance education is a national concern, and we have had a tremendous response at every stop thus far,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Today and F&I and Showroom. “I would encourage any dealer who is looking for a rock-solid, region-sensitive compliance plan to mark their calendars now.”

The first opportunity is next month at Dealer Summit, where the Compliance Summit agenda has been rolled into the three-day event. Dealer Summit will be held May 3–5, 2016, at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel.

Vegas Compliance Summit will be co-located with Industry Summit, which is scheduled for August 29–31, 2016, at Paris Las Vegas, as a separate but concurrent event.

Texas Compliance Summit Names ‘Your Responsibilities’ Panelists

AUSTIN — Organizers of Texas Compliance Summit have announced that three dealership personnel will take part in a panel discussion at the event, which is scheduled for Nov. 16–17, 2015, at the Hilton Austin Airport Hotel.

Sean Hudspeth and Dena Moore of Wichita, Kan.-based Davis-Moore Auto Group and Marla Rhen of San Antonio’s Gunn Auto Group will join Tariq Kamal, managing editor of Auto Dealer Today, for “Leadership, Teamwork and Accountability” at 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17. The session belongs to the “Your Responsibilities” portion of the Compliance Summit agenda.

“To have a panel staffed entirely by working F&I and compliance professionals is a sign that Compliance Summit is on the right path,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of Auto Dealer Today and F&I and Showroom. “Their boots-on-the-ground experience and Tariq’s industry acumen should combine for a lively and informative discussion.”

Hudspeth and Moore serve as director of HR and risk management and finance director, respectively, for Davis-Moore. Rhen is Gunn Auto Group’s vice president and compliance officer. They are expected to share their hard-earned advice for designing, implementing and enforcing a sustainable plan for front-end compliance.

“I can’t thank Sean, Dena and Marla enough for making the trip to Austin for the sole purpose of improving the takeaway for our attendees,” Kamal said. “The value of their experience is incalculable. I can’t wait to get started.”

Registration for Texas Compliance Summit is now open. More information, including hotel and travel, is available at the event’s website. Attendees who register on or before Oct. 26 will enjoy a $100 discount.

Texas Compliance Summit to Feature ‘Your Responsibilities’ Panel

AUSTIN — Organizers of the upcoming Texas Compliance Summit have announced that Tariq Kamal, managing editor of Auto Dealer Today, will lead a panel discussion entitled “Leadership, Teamwork and Accountability” at the event, which will be held Nov. 16–17, 2015, at the Hilton Austin Airport Hotel.

“We are counting on Tariq and his panel to shift our focus from the theoretical aspects of front-end compliance to the practical application thereof,” said David Gesualdo, show chair and publisher of ADT and F&I and Showroom. “We expect a hard-hitting discussion that will result in useful strategies and advice.”

The panel, which falls under the “Your Responsibilities” portion of the agenda, will be staffed by dealership personnel and experts from the compliance and F&I training segments. Kamal helmed a similar panel at the Midwest Compliance Summit in April.

“In Chicago, the conversation ranged from state and federal regulations to econtracting, deal-jacket audits and the Better Business Bureau,” he said. “We will reconvene in November to deliver the compliance content Texas dealers need and demand.”

Registration for Texas Compliance Summit is open at the event’s website. Attendees who register on or before Oct. 26 will enjoy a $100 discount.
